Gals’ night out

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

It’s been a while since my homies and I went clubbing. We used to party almost on a weekly basis. But when you have other commitments and age catches up with you, sleep becomes the top priority in your life. Nevertheless, it was awesome fun to hang out and club-hop. By five in the morning, I couldn’t feel my toes anymore.

We first attended the POCC (Power Over Cervival Cancer) party at Zouk. Yours Truly’s one of the ambassadors for the movement. BTW, do you know that cervical cancer is one of the most common cancer affecting Singaporean women? Let the women you love know more about this killer. Click here for more info.

After that we headed to B.Fac to meet some friends and have more fun, travelling in taxis of course. Remember, be a responsible driver. If you wanna drink, don’t drive.

Hello, baby…

During the recent birthday celebration, we decided to use the baby as a photo prop.
Guess which’s the real mother/ father of the baby?

Another year older. Another year wiser.
Survived another year without much turbulence.
Anyway, I love how the number of candles get lesser and lesser…

This is called “自欺欺人” :D

Thank you everyone for the love and kindness shown.
Thanks for the birthday wishes too!

Shower you with our love

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

To welcome the two little bundles of joy into our group, we threw a baby shower for the moms last weekend.

BTW, baby showers are NOT exactly the same as first month celebrations (满月). A baby shower is traditionally held for expectant mothers. Other women folks gather to impart knowledge to them. As none of us qualify to share our wisdom in bringing up kids, the baby shower was just an excuse to eat and make merry and present gifts to the moms-to-be.

Little boys or little girls?
Make a guess:

Bridesmaid for the 1258th time. Nevertheless I’m still loving it :)

The gates were wide opened and the house well-lit at 6am:

While the couple went over to the groom’s parents’ place for the tea ceremony, us sisters hurried over to the park for our #1 mission: to complete the park setup within two hours for the marriage solemnization. OMG! 没时间哦! 快点干活!

We had to transform this:

除了每天早上蓬头垢面吓人的模样,偶尔我也会装淑女一下。

Another one bites the dust

W’s wedding coming up soon, so we threw her a hen’s party.
No crazy boozing, costume dressing, club hopping.
This time, we went mild. Sit-down dinner at a nice French restaurant, followed by sleepover at one of the gals’ pad.

Deco was important, so balloons were essential to spruce up the place:

Kids these days

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

friends1.JPG

Shout out from the Big Apple

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

I spent the third morning in New York painting school walls in Harlem.

C was involved in a team building project and she roped me in to help. Since I hadn’t exactly gone into Harlem before, I thought, yea sure. So we just got back from the school, with slightly blue fingers (paint streaked), sore necks (from tilting our heads up), and a great sense of accomplishment.

Trip’s pretty good so far. London was fantastic. It even snowed a little! WHOA~ And SL showed me the ‘real‘ London, which I doubt would be in any Lonely Planet guide. We had so many adventures I don’t even know where to begin! Some I can’t say coz I’d be killed. HAHA!!! It’s always great to spend time with old friends.

Here’s a picture taken at the club during Halloween’s weekend:

Then I flew off to Boston and crashed over at Hock’s place. Can you believe this guy??? He actually cooked me fried bee hoon on the first morning… Just like the good old days!!! :) Back Bay is gorgeous, especially with the gold and red autumn foliage. Hock’s crazy too, so we spent a lot of time laughing our heads off at really stupid things.

Managed to have dinner with D, SY and their adorable kids too. Their little boy was confused as to how to address me, so I was called ‘Jie-jie-mummy-auntie’ for a while. Quite a mouthful for a two year old!

After a numbing four hour bus ride, I arrived in NYC on Thursday night. Note to self: bring less stuff when traveling. Staying over at R and C’s place right now and Time Square is just next door. I love the skyline that greets me in the morning. And yea, painting is fun too…

Off to dinner soon. TTYL!

XOXO,
Kay
